Srinagar, Dec 03 (KNO): The School Education Department Tuesday proposed winter vacations in phased manner from December-09 and December-16 respectively for the winter zones of Kashmir division. According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) said that the proposal of winter vacation was submitted in view of prevailing cold and foggy weather conditions in the region. In a proposal to the Principal Secretary, School Education Department, DSEK said, “It is to submit that prevailing weather conditions particularly the cold wave and dense fog in the Kashmir Valley has necessitated declaring the winter vacations.” The proposal states that upto 2nd primary; the vacations shall be announced from December-09 to February-24. It also said that from 3rd standard to 12th classes, the vacations shall be announced from December-16 to February-24. Pertinently, Kashmir is reeling under intense cold waves from the past more than two week—(KNO)
